Cillian brings some international flavour and a variety of name pronunciations to the Edge Physio team. For the record it is pronounced ‘kill-e-in’ although he accepts other variations from time to time.
He started his Physiotherapy career in Newcastle (UK), following an honours degree in Physiology from University College in Dublin and a Physiotherapy degree at Northumbria University. Working initially in the NHS Cillian soon found a love for musculoskeletal and sporting injuries and spent the next two years working in a private sports injury clinic in Newcastle. He was also the Physiotherapist for Newcastle Falcons Rugby Academy, U16 and U18 sides and assisted with first team duties when required.
Cillian has a passion for sport and in particular rugby, Gaelic games and football. He has a strong interest in orthopaedic rehabilitation, running injuries and tendinopathies as well as a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
After moving to NZ with his partner Cillian is already proving popular around the clinic with his patients. He plans on travelling around our great country, educating us on the finer points around Guinness, teaching us Irish dance and continuing to dine out on Irelands only ever victory over the All Blacks in 2016.
